This popular field day will showcase sustainable management through high density grazing, covering all issues of an organic beef grazing enterprise from paddock to plate.
Glenn Morris, FigTrees Organic Farms manager and SoilCare member, will talk about the philosophy and management practices at FigTrees Organic Farms including Holistic Management and ecosystem processes. Glenn will also talk about the power of staying focussed on positive actions towards the future 'you do want' along with an introduction to the 'I Choose' movement.
Henry Sheehan, manager 'Wilton Park' - FigTrees Organic Farms and SoilCare member, will talk about the importance of observation skills and planning when determining when stock should be moved to deliver the best soil and pasture health benefits to the entire property. Henry will also discuss general stock husbandry on an organic farm.
Peter Hastie (NASSA) will talk about the steps to organic certification and market access.
A casual dinner will be held after the field day (location and cost, depending on numbers, TBA ). Dinner menu includes FigTrees organic beef and other local produce prepared by Heart and Soul Wholefood Cafe in Grafton.
