Local BBQ triumph

25th Sep 2012

SIZZLING steaks, more than 1200 people and plenty of local produce filled the street on Sunday morning when the NSW BBQ Challenge came to town.

The Countrylink Regional NSW Barbecue Challenge and Farmers Market attracted plenty of locals, while others travelled from Tenterfield, Armidale and Glen Innes. The event was held in the Evans Street cultural precinct and also included a showcase dinner at Signet's Restaurant on Saturday night. On Sunday there were seven entries in the barbecue cook off.

It was a local team from Figtrees Organic Farms that did Inverell proud, winning the cook-off.
